In a bid to boost tourism, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has decided to launch Special Bharat Darshan Ex Kerala tour package. As per reports, the special train being deployed under this scheme will pass through Goa, Jaipur, Gujarat, Delhi, Agra and Hyderabad. Reportedly, the tour will stretch over 12 Days and 11 nights and the special train would start its run from Madurai Railway Station on 15 August 2021 at 12:05 AM.
Reservation facilities available on the IRCTC website & varied centres
Reportedly, the total cost of the package stands at ₹12,000 per passenger and a range of options are available for bookings and reservations. Besides IRCTC’s website, interested individuals can visit the corporation’s Tourist Facilitation Centre, Regional and Zonal offices for getting their tickets done.
As per reports, the IRCTC has provided a number of locations including Madurai, Kollam, Trivandrum Central, Kottayam, Thrissur, and other places for boarding the train. Similarly, the de-boarding points include Renigunta Junction, Katpadi Junction, Salem Junction, Jolarpettai, Erode Junction, Palakkad, Podanur Junction amongst other regions.
Non-AC travel, 3-time meals & other services to be provided
According to reports, sleeper class train tickets, stay at dharmashalas/halls on sharing basis, morning beverages, three-time meals and one bottled water per day will be provided under the package. Besides this, travel insurance, non-AC road travel, the presence of an escort and the safety and security of passengers in trains will also be assured. Other than this, all personal expenditures including ticket fares at the monuments will have to be borne by the tourists themselves.
Reportedly, Leave Travel Concession will be issued by IRCTC to the tourists opting for this service after the journey finishes(only the train fare and road transfers will be admitted). Additionally, IRCTC has released a detailed cancellation policy wherein a small amount of ₹250 will be deducted if the booking is cancelled before 15 days. Further, 25% and 50% of the cost will be deducted if the booking is cancelled within 8-14 days and 4-7 days respectively and no refund will be offered if the period is less than 4 days.
