With the goal of inspiring people to embrace solar energy, Indore Municipal Corporation is working to turn the city into a solar powerhouse. As a part of this initiative, those who choose to install solar installations will receive a six percent fee concession for plot maps measuring 1500 square. Additional subsidies will further sweeten the deal, fostering increased adoption.
Panels to Grace Multi-Storey Buildings and Ponds in 85 Wards
As part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, solar panels are to be installed on top of multi-storey buildings and beside ponds in 85 wards. In the upcoming three months, the city will encourage over 40,000 households and electricity users to participate in the production of solar energy. The city as a whole should come together for the environment’s sake and lower electricity costs, as Indore’s Mayor Pushya stated in her determination to win Delhi’s Solar City Award the following year.
Sanjay Dubey, Principal Secretary for Energy, emphasized the affordability of solar power plants, which can pay for themselves in five years and supply energy for the following twenty years. To promote solar energy, a campaign of awareness will be carried out, in addition to ward presentations. Increased subsidies are anticipated to help this green initiative even more. Plot map fees are waived in Indore’s goal of achieving high mast solar lighting in areas with 29 villages. Amit Tomar, Managing Director of MPMC, announced plans to install solar panels on 1400 government buildings and connect 25,000 current electricity users to the Roof Top Solar Net Meter Scheme within the next three months.
