As per reports, the secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association informed on Sunday that Indore is all set to get a brand new Cricket stadium. Adding to the sprawling grounds in the city, the cricket complex would promise a bright future to the aspirants of the much-loved sport.
New stadium to come up over a stretch of 25 acres
Reportedly, the proposed project would be initiated after the land is procured from the Indore Development Authority on the super corridor stretch. The MPCA secretary asserted that an area of around 25 acres is required for setting up the stadium complex. As per the current plan, the ground would be prepared for IDCA and it would witness matches from international tournaments too. The secretary further stated that the District Commissioner has assured complete cooperation for the project. He is making sure that all measures are undertaken in order to allocate the land as soon as possible.
Another addition to the sprawling grounds in Indore
The new stadium would be an attractive addition to the sports spaces in the city. Indore already has the world-famous Holkar Cricket Stadium with a vast campus that can welcome an audience of 30,000 spectators. This cricket complex comes with state-of-the-art facilities like floodlights for night matches. The stadium is widely remembered for Virendra Sehwag’s third-highest ODI score of 219 amid other interesting events. Not just domestic matches, the stadium has hosted multiple international tournaments too. In addition to this, Indore also houses another ground called Nehru Stadium which conducts multiple sports events.
Sports curriculum and facilities have long awaited the push they needed in the country. With the recent intervention, Indore can become a model of inspiration for other major cities to follow suit.
