World Tribal Day 2021, falling on August 9, has welcomed learning opportunities for the members of the tribal community in Rajasthan. On Sunday, the CM of the state, carried out the formalities of establishing the bedrock of Jai Minesh Tribal University, Kota. He also inaugurated the Tribal Meena Girls Hostel in Pratap Nagar, Jaipur, in the same virtual ceremony.

After Indira Gandhi National Tribal University in Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh, Jai Minesh Tribal University is the second institution being built to provide higher education to the Indian tribal community. Along with the university, Tribal Meena Girls Hostel has been built of approximately 3000 square meters in the capital city, to provide comfortable accommodation.
Furthermore, Mukhyamantri Anuprati Yojana has been implemented to prepare talented students for professional and competitive examinations. Reportedly, in the past two and a half years, around 123 new government colleges and 32 new girls’ colleges have been inaugurated to provide better education to the youth living in the nearby villages.
As per reports, 30 acres of land and about 15 crores have been allocated for the upcoming university by the Urban Development Trust, Kota. The education and social growth of the youth, are ensured by such steps.
Major steps taken to revamp the structure of higher education
Recapitulating his dedication towards higher education among females, the CM of Rajasthan mentioned that any school with a strength of 500 girls or more, in class 11th and 12th, would be upgraded to a girls’ college. Further, the Education Minister of Rajasthan claimed that the government is taking major steps to improve higher education in the state. The Jai Minesh University in Kota, is an upcoming project, that would hopefully ensure equality and liberty of the tribal community in the region and beyond.
