Highest in Rajasthan, Jaipur reports 514 new cases on Friday

Section 144 imposed in Jaipur and other districts of Rajasthan in an attempt to control COVID spread.

Jaipur has reported 514 new case rise on Friday, taking Capital's total cases to a soaring statistic of 41,547. The Pink City has been furnishing the highest number of fresh cases in the Rajasthan, with a case positivity ratio that stands at 6.6% Jaipur has also been yielding maximum recoveries in the state with 33,902 discharges.

Section 144 in all districts

In a bid to curb the rise in fresh coronavirus infections in the state, the Rajasthan Home Department has issued a letter to all state district magistrates and police commissioners of Jaipur and Jodhpur advising them to impose Section-144 across 33 districts from November 21. This ruling prohibits the gathering of 4 or more people in a specified area, promoting the norms of social distancing.

The Home Secretary has directed for the imposition of Section 144 given the depreciating health index of the state, which poses a great risk to the health and safety of people. Earlier in March, the State had imposed a similar order to break the chain of coronavirus spread in the state. This enforcement, the Home Secretary added, is a continuation of the same order. There will be uniformity in enforcement if all districts execute it at the same time, she further added.
