Soon, you will be able to charge your electric car on the highway from Gurgaon to Jaipur, as officials from the Ministry of Transport, NITI Aayog and National Highway for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) are making preparations for the same.
The 258 km long, E-highway from India Gate to Albert Pinto Hall of Jaipur, will proposedly have 20 charging stations, out of which, 2 will run on solar power.
Reportedly, power backup and a help team will be provided within thirty minutes, in case of an electric vehicle break down.
Trial run will commence from September 9
People will also get a chance to participate in the trial run for the E-highway, which is scheduled between September 9 to October 9. NHEV will ensure availability of 100 E-cars on rent for the general public who are travelling from Gurgaon to Jaipur. After submitting a copy of the driving license, commuters can take rental vehicles at a fixed economical fare.
Moreover, passengers travelling from Jaipur to Gurgaon or Delhi can rent an E-car from Albert Pinto Hall. Charging booths will be available in the middle of the way for the those who partake in the trail. On reaching the destination, drivers will be asked to fill a feedback form, regarding their experience and suggestions.
20 e buses will also ply run for passengers
As part of the trail, 20 inter city E-buses have also been introduced, which passengers can avail of. These buses will be dispatched from India Gate in Delhi. Passengers will also be able to board these buses from IFFCO Chowk and Rajiv Chowk in Gurgaon.
Though the rentals for e-cars and the fares for buses are yet to be decided, officials say it will be nominal.
