The ‘Digital Radio Awards: Season 5’, organised by the Amity School of Communication in Lucknow announced its winners after a spectacular finale on Friday. Pranav Grover from Amity University Lucknow and Purvi Bhushan from Shoolini University Solan, bagged the titular awards in the male and female RJ category respectively. The winners were felicitated with a trophy and a gift voucher by Mocha Cafe and a chance to be on air on Fever FM 104, along with a Summer Internship at the radio studio! Besides these winners, top 5 participants of the event, in both the categories, male and female were awarded with a certificate of appreciation and a discount voucher by Mocha Café.

The event was segmented to judge participants in four different categories. Winners of all four segments were also announced in the digital ceremony where Tushar Singh, Amity University Lucknow won the Radio Advertisement competition, Ritik Verma, also from the Amity won the Radio Drama/Storytelling segment. While Radio Jingle round was won by Rehan Khan of Amity, Swati Chandra of the varsity was successful in bagging the Jury Award.
As this year’s competition went completely digital for the first time, 170 people from across the country were able to enrol in the event! A total of 10 participants from this lot, 5 Male RJs and 5 Female RJs were shortlisted to perform in the live finale round. With a stellar jury of Mr Vijay Kriplani (Assistant Programming Director (UP Cluster, Fever FM), Ms Pooja Barry (Cluster Programming Head, Fever FM) and RJ Raghu Raftaar (Fever FM), along with the eclectic participants, the finale was a magnificent one, with various entertaining acts. The judges seemed more than excited to welcome the winners, to their working studio.
Apart from the fun and galore, a discussion on Role of Radio as a communication tool during Pandemic’ was held by Ms Pooja Barry who shared insightful details, capturing the interest of her audience. This magnificent session of the first-ever digital radio awards came to an end when Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Mohan Johri, Director, Amity School of Communication presented mementoes to all the esteemed judges/ guests and sponsors.
