Under the Indore Metro Train project, a metro depot is to come up in the Super Corridor near the Gandhi Nagar area at an estimated cost of ₹400. Lucknow based, KSM Bashir Mohammad and Sons was allotted the tender for construction of the depot by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL). Additionally, the depot will have a 1.25 km rail track for testing purposes.

The depot will include a maintenance shed for the sole purpose of keeping the metro train coaches healthy. The MPMRCL’s administrative office will also be built on the premises. About 32 hectares of land has been spared by the forest department for this project. In addition to that, some land has also been provided by Gandhi Nagar Grah Nirman Sahakari Sanstha.
This depot, which is part of the Indore Metro’s Phase 1 project, will serve trains on the 33.53 km Yellow Line, which will form a ring around Indore city and connect Palasia-Railway Station-Rajwada-Airport-Bhawarsala through 30 elevated stops. The elevated corridor for the metro is now under construction since the laying of concrete segments between pillars in the MR-10 area this Monday.
