More than 100 Covid-19 cases reported in Lucknow this week!

Lucknow's KGMU reported 78 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday.

Although we've been issued several relaxations in the state, it nowhere means that we've been successful at dodging the COVID-19 virus. On Thursday itself, Uttar Pradesh has recorded 604 new COVID-19 cases which is the highest single-day count till now and the total number of victims in the state have surged way past 15,000 as of today. Earlier, the highest number of cases in a day was on Wednesday when the state recorded 583 COVID-19 victims.

What's Happening?

Today, Lucknow's King George Medical College reported 78 new Covid-19 cases today with patients hailing from Moradabad, Ayodhya, Kannauj, Barabanki, Deoria, Sambhal, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Balrampur and the city itself. This has now added 100+ corona cases to the city's list, in the last 2 days.

In the last 72 hours, Lucknow has added around 95 new cases. The total number of positive cases in the city currently stands at 733 while 301 are active cases and 11 deaths are recorded.

Principal Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad stated, "16,546 tests were done on Wednesday and on an average, over 16,000 tests are being done in Uttar Pradesh every day." He further added that in the next couple of days, people working in medicine shops, dhabas or involved in home-delivery services will be randomly tested.

Jaipur-Delhi double-decker train services temporarily redlined over low occupancy rates

The double-decker train was back on track from the 10th of October following a halt due to the pandemic.

On account of low passenger turnout, the authorities of the North Western Railway (NWR), on Thursday, decided to temporarily redline the Jaipur-Delhi double-decker train. This train was back on track from the 10th of October following a halt due to the pandemic and its related directives and now, its operations will again remain barred from the 8th of December. This statement was issued by the NWR Deputy General Manager, Shashi Kiran.

Lucknow's SGPGIMS conducts highest COVID-19 tests in a single day, across India

Lucknow's testing lab worked round the clock to set the standard of RT-PCR COVID testing in the country.

The Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow claims to have conducted the highest number of RT-PCR tests for Covid-19 in a single day, in the whole country. The SGPGIMS has been conducting tests to check the infection of coronavirus since its outbreak in March. So far, the institute has conducted an aggregate total of 6 lakh tests in Lucknow.

A team of 70 members made it possible to conduct as many as 7,748 tests, that happens to be the highest number of RT-PCR COVID test conducted in a single day, across the whole country!
