Bandra residents are facing a host of issues due to the ongoing road concretisation work by BMC, with roads dug up and infrastructure deteriorating in several areas. One such area is St Alexious Road in Bandra West, where sewage water is flowing across a half-completed road. Residents have raised concerns about the slow pace of work, with workers often absent for extended periods. Many have not been able to open their windows for months due to the mess.
Ongoing woes across Bandra
Similar problems are being faced by residents of Perry Cross Road and St John the Baptist Road, where water lines have been damaged, and there are frequent disruptions to water, electricity, and gas services. The road has turned into a dirt track, with only a narrow patch of interlocking tiles laid out. So far, only 75 metres of road have been concreted, leaving the area in a constant state of disruption.
Furthermore, residents complain that BMC fails to install barricades or provide prior notice to residents before construction work begins.

The image showed an unusual sewage duct and uneven footpath that poses a danger to pedestrians, particularly the elderly and schoolchildren.
The post, which was shared on Saturday, garnered attention for its emphasis on the risks posed by the poorly designed infrastructure. In response, the BMC expressed regret over the situation, assuring the user that the issue would be addressed.
