Phase 1: BKC to Aarey Stretch now operational
The Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey stretch of Mumbai Metro Line 3, known as the Aqua Line, is now open to the public. This 12.69-kilometer section is part of the 33.5-kilometre Colaba-Seepz-Aarey line.
The facility is expected to reduce 650,000 vehicular trips, cut traffic by 35%, and save 354,000 liters of fuel. Daily services will operate from 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM on weekdays and 8:30 AM to 10:30 PM on Sundays, with fares ranging from ₹10 to ₹50.
10 Aqua Line stations with 96 daily round trips
Mumbai Metro Line 3 includes ten stations- Kotak BKC, Bandra Colony, Santacruz, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) T1, Sahar Road, CSMIA T2, Marol Naka, Andheri, SEEPZ, and Aarey Colony, the only ground-level station.
Trains will run every 6.5 minutes during peak hours and every 15-20 minutes at other times, totaling 96 round trips daily. This new Mumbai metro line is expected to serve around 400,000 passengers daily. Tickets can be purchased via the MetroConnect3 app or at station counters.
