In a bid to ease the increasing congestion in the area, Mumbai Traffic Police has announced temporary traffic restrictions at BKC. This decision has come as an aftereffect of a recent letter from the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), highlighting the steadily increasing traffic congestion in Bandra Kurla Complex.
After studying the situation, Mumbai Traffic Police said that the demolition of the Old Sion Railway Over Bridge has led to commuters taking adjacent routes, which is increasing congestion in the BKC area. To rectify the situation until a permanent solution is found, the police have announced ‘No Entry’ and alternate routes at BKC. Notably, these restrictions will be in place until further notice.
Check details on alternate routes here:
Due to old Sion Railway Station over bridge demolition, vehicular movement from adjacent roads has lead to increase in traffic congestion in BKC area.
