Starting today, Mumbai residents can apply for a VIP number for their new four-wheelers or two-wheelers, on the Parivahan website and make digital payments for the same. Before today, one had to visit the RTO office in person to apply for a VIP registration number in Mumbai.
Here’s the new process that vehicle owners need to follow:

Access Parivahan online portal

Complete registration process for a new number — either verify email ID or generate one-time password

Browse through registration numbers’ categories

Pick desired VIP number and pay via any digital payment method
Once the payment is done, the selected VIP number is yours and you can take the generated receipt to the car dealer to get it affixed.
