Mumbai's Dahisar-toll naka to get a new bypass to dissolve traffic woes

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has decided to install an additional bypass at the Dahisar-check naka to decongest road traffic. Stretching for up to 9 kilometres, this route stands as one of the busiest roads in Mumbai, being in the vicinity of one of the five entries and exit points of the city. The road is extensively used by domestic and commercial vehicles, as well as for shipping cargoes towards Gujarat and Delhi.

Mumbai-Pune Expressway to soon get an AI-based Traffic Management System

Traffic on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway will soon be streamlined and regulated by the authority of an Intelligent (or Highways) Traffic Management System (I/HTMS). As per reports, the MSRDC has decided to pull the project on a fast track, especially after the two-year delay. The lowest-bidder has been selected to implement the artificial intelligence (AI)-backed application in about 9 to 10 months, after testing.

Mumbai Metro services on lines 2A & 7 to commence in January 2022

The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has launched preparations to commence metro operations on lines 2A and 7 by January 2022. As per reports, the maiden trails on the said corridors on May 31 this year, aiming at an October 2021 deadline. However, with the advent of the second wave of coronavirus and the consequent lockdown, the project opening has been postponed until next year.

Underground metro construction work to begin in Dadar; know all about the road ​diversions here

The Mumbai Police on Thursday announced shutdown and diversions at several key routes in Dadar, owing to the ongoing Metro Line 3 work. An underground metro station has been lined up in Dadar and the construction of same will restrict regular commute. As per reports, the police order will be valid for all vehicular movement for the next 6 months, up to February 2022.

Vehicular movement suspended partially on Mumbai's Ghatkopar-Mankhurd flyover, here's why!

The Brihamumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday decided to partially shut down the newly inaugurated Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road (GMLR) for extensive repair work. Built as Mumbai's costliest flyover project, the ₹713 crore stretch was opened to the public on August 1, to decongest traffic in the central suburbs. The shutdown decision has stemmed from several complaints of two-wheeler skidding and an unfortunate bike accident, earlier this week.
