SAI Lucknow to conduct Women's Hockey selection trials for NCOE on Dec 6 & 7

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) is all set to conduct countrywide selection trials of the Women's hockey team for National Centre Of Excellence (NCOE) this month. As per the report, the trial will be organised at Netaji Subhas Regional Centre, SAI in Lucknow on December 6 and 7, 2021. In line with the existing COVID scenario, a negative RT-PCR report, not older than 72 hours is mandatory to enter the premises. Cops in UP to get CPR training for providing timely aid during emergency situations

In a bid to provide timely aid to citizens during an emergency, the Lucknow police personnel will be trained to perform basic lifesaving techniques i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This initiative will help the police force to help residents of the city receive medical assistance during emergency situations. With the professional guidance and training by medical experts like the head of the cardiology department at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), the police force will be able to help citizens before they are taken to the hospital in emergency situations.

Super-specialty blocks at medical college in Kanpur & 5 other UP cities to start soon!

In an attempt to improve the existing medical infrastructure in the state, the government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to upgrade six medical colleges by starting super specialty medical facilities from November 12. For this, a separate block dedicated to super specialty will be set up at the medical colleges of Kanpur, Agra, Prayagraj, Meerut, Jhansi and Gorakhpur. With this, treatment of serious diseases related to the kidney, liver, heart and nervous system will be available in these cities, so that patients do not have to rush to neighbouring cities for treatment.

Expansion work on Lucknow Airport’s runway to kickstart soon

The airport authority of Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport is all set to increase the length of the runway soon. As per reports, the 2740-metre long runway at the erstwhile Amausi airport will now be extended by 300 meters. Two new cases of Zika virus reported in Lucknow on Thursday

After Kanpur and Kannauj, the Zika virus has set its foot in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh now. On Thursday, two cases of Zika virus were detected in Lucknow, confirmed the health department official of the UP government. With this, Lucknow has become the third district of the state to have a Zika footprint. Apart from UP, cases of Zika virus have also been detected in Kerala and Maharashtra as well.
