SGPGI in Lucknow to get a helipad; Air-ambulance service to begin soon!

Augmenting the existing medical infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow's Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute (SGPGI) is all set to start air ambulance services soon. As per the official report, the administration has given a go ahead for this new facility and the construction of helipad is about to begin by 2022 January. Notably, the PGI administration has already filed a detailed project report for this upcoming facility.

PWD to widen & repair road leading to Chandrika Devi Temple from Sitapur Road in Lucknow!

Soon the residents of Lucknow will be able to travel to Chandrika Devi Temple with ease, as the road leading to the temple will be widened and repaired by the administration soon. In an effort to facilitate easier and smoother traffic movement, the Public Work Department will undertake repair work on the road leading to Chandrika Devi Temple from Sitapur Road. Apart from the repair work, the authorities will also widen the 11.45 kilometre long road as well. According to the reports available at present, the work on this project is expected to start this month.

'Kapda Bank' to be set up in Lucknow to help the poor stay warm this winter season!

District Administration along with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation has come up with a unique initiative to help keep the poor and destitute people warm this winter. As per the announcement by the District Magistrate of Lucknow, 8 zones in the city have been listed for setting up the 'Kapda Bank'. Under the ambit of this project, anyone can donate new or used clothes to underprivileged people by contacting the nearest zonal office.

BIS hallmarking regulation effective in Lucknow, Kanpur & 17 other districts in UP now

After multiple postponements and various discussions with the stakeholders, the Bureau of Indian Standards Hallmarking Regulations has finally come into effect in 19 cities of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow and Kanpur from December 1. Notably, this regulation, which was implemented across the country by the union government in June 2021, is applicable in 256 cities across India. If a jeweller violates this rule, they will have to pay hefty fines or even serve jail time up to one year.

Third train set for Kanpur Metro arrives in the city

Adding to the existing fleet of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, the third three-coach metro train set arrived in Kanpur yesterday. Reportedly, with the successful completion of the trials undertaken by the Research Design & Standard Organisation (RDSO), Kanpur Metro is expected to start its commercial services by the end of this month. As per the officials, the fourth train set will arrive in the industrial city tomorrow.
