In alarming news for those returning home to Kanpur by air from Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and other big metro cities, cost of flight tickets on said routes has skyrocketed leading up to Holi.
Looking at hundreds of trains getting cancelled, travelers returning to Kanpur might end up having to opt for air travel, which has gotten more than twice as expensive around the long Holi weekend.
Flight tickets most expensive on Mar 7 and Mar 12
For instance, the ticket price for the flight from Bengaluru to Kanpur on March 7 stands at Rs 11,678 while the fare for the those returning to Bengaluru from Kanpur on March 12 has shot up to a whopping Rs 17,303. It must be noted that ticket prices on the same route usually hovers around Rs 5,000 on either side.
Similarly, flight tickets from Mumbai to Kanpur on March 7 will cost Rs 7,307 while the prices for those returning to Mumbai from Kanpur have skyrocketed to Rs 12,158. Furthermore, ticket prices for flights on the Delhi-Kanpur route have also nearly doubled during the same period.
So, if you want to take a flight to head back to Kanpur, you’re going to have to shell out quite a lot.
