The railway authorities have ramped up preparations for quick commissioning of Lucknow Prayagraj Shatabdi Express, Lucknow Jaipur Double Decker and other similar trains. Reportedly, the board officials and other zonal authorities have already started holding discussions for these projects. As per reports, it is expected that the two trains will be ready for operations by early next year, easing travel for a large count of commuters.

While the plans for Lucknow Prayagraj Shatabdi Express were initiated a long time ago, the project got deferred due to the pandemic-propelled lockdown. Previously, authorities from North Central Railway had prepared a timetable and submitted a feasible proposal for the same. Now, the plans are being revived to make sure that the train is ready for a run at the earliest.
Notably, the stretch from Prayagraj to Fafamau comes under the jurisdiction of Northern Railways while the section beyond that is managed by the North Central Railways. Once the new train is functional, the regular travellers on this route will be benefitted significantly.

As per reports, the upcoming Lucknow Jaipur Double Decker train is an attempt to merge the two similar trains operational from Lucknow to New Delhi and from New Delhi to Jaipur. While the timetable has been prepared and trials were also conducted, the train could be not be deployed for public usage due to a number of reasons. Now, reports state that the officials are planning to initiate its run during the early days of 2022.
In addition to this, it has been reported that the Lucknow Mumbai Pushpak Express might also get its duplicate soon. Further, the officials are also planning to launch a circular train for the Lucknow region, which will benefit citizens traveling to Kanpur, Sitapur, Hardoi, Barabanki and other nearby districts. Besides ensuring affordable tickets for the commuters, this move will also help in increasing the revenues of the railways.
