After a number of industries in Indore and other districts registered themselves under Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board’s (MPPCB) ‘Vivad Se Vishwas’ scheme, the board decided to extend the deadline for registration till April 30. Under the scheme, industries will have to register themselves with the Pollution Control Board by providing a self-declaration of starting the business and taking the board’s consent.

Initially, the scheme was planned for January to March but now the deadline has been extended after seeing a good response from companies. Under the extension, industries or institutions will be allowed to take permission from the Pollution Control Board (PCB) and submit a lump sum fee for a self-declared period of time.
According to officials, the move is intended to benefit both parties, as it will increase the number of registration that will directly result in increased monitoring and surveillance. In an attempt to draw attention to the extension of the scheme, officials held a number of meetings with hospitals, hotels and other industries.
In an attempt to provide, ‘Ease of Doing Business’ to industries, hospitals and other institutions, the MPPCB announced a considerable decrease in the amount of consent fee in January 2022. As per the programme, the industries listed under the green category can apply for renewal for 15 years, orange category industries for 10 years and red category industries for 5 years.
