The Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojna is an initiative by the government of Uttar Pradesh to help competitive exam aspirants seek expert counsel and guidance through free of cost, state-run-coaching. According to the latest update, the coaching centres will begin operations from the 16th of February. This occasion is also coinciding with Basant Panchami, a day dedicated to worshipping Goddess Saraswati, who is hailed as the Hindu goddess of learning.
A few students to be allowed to attend offline classes
The scheme has been launched with the vision of constituting Kota-like coaching centres in the state. A need which was realised during the lockdown with travel restrictions, the programme will develop educational hubs across UP. The coaching centres will be established in two phases, first at divisional and then at the district level.
In just 4 days of its launch, over 4.84 lakh students across the state have registered to avail free coaching and guidance support. These students will receive online study material and access authority to virtual classrooms, beginning from today. Sessions will be conducted twice, in the morning and evening. They will also be recorded and saved on the student portal for future reference and revision. Keeping the pandemic situation in sight, only a few students will be allowed to attend offline classes while the rest can join digital sessions. In Lucknow, the physical classrooms will be conducted at Lucknow University and IT College.
Better facilities, brighter future
Further, students shall be provided with free of cost counselling and guidance sessions at the coaching centre. The provision for these sessions includes direct guidance and counselling from senior IAS, IPS, and PCS officers. For defence exams such as NDA (National Defence Academy) and CDS (Combined Defence Services), training shall be provided by Principals of Sainik Schools in Uttar Pradesh. Separate classes for NEET and JEE will be held, paving students’ way to the prestigious IITs.
For better guidance, the state government will also organise doubt solving sessions to help candidates choose the best field for them. It will be accompanied by discussions with experts as guest lecturers. A welcome move, this scheme levels the competition arena for students belonging to the economically weaker section of society. It shall motivate the youth to aim and achieve new heights.
