Lucknow’s Study Hall Educational Foundation rose to widespread recognition recently as a film featuring its school registered a win at the internationally acclaimed Emmy awards. Notably, Youtube’s favourite Prajakta Koli clinched the Emmy Daytime award in the Daytime non-fiction special category and the city school marked its presence in her movie. The film expounds upon the contribution of Prerna Girls School, a unit of SHEF, in empowering young girls through education.

The internet sensation registered this massive win for her Creators for Change project. Remarkably, the video also features Michelle Obama and Prajakata expressed gratitude towards her after accomplishing this momentous feat. Finding a place in the documentary for its extensive efforts, SHEF has not only ushered worldwide fame for itself but also added feathers to the city’s cap of glory!
Despite the continual progress being witnessed in the current times, the rights and education of girls still require an accelerated push. Thereby, the works and achievements of organisations like the SHEF, need to be highlighted in order to create awareness and ignite conversations for this crucial driver of development. With added popularity due to the Emmy win, SHEF would also motivate other associations working in the same field.
Promoting affordable and accessible education for girls
As per reports, SHEF aspires to encourage education among young and adolescent girls through an enhanced availability and accessibility of opportunities. Moving ahead with this goal, Prerna Girls School offers lost-cost subsidised education to girls from kindergarten to grade 12. Along with this school, two other educational campuses were also a part of the documentary, produced with aid from Girls Opportunity Alliance.
It is noteworthy that Emmy is one of the four prestigious awards in the US, in the field of entertainment. The other three include Tony (for theatre), Grammy (for music) and Oscars (for movies).
