Automatic barriers to be installed at 19 city underbridges
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is set to enhance safety at 19 underbridges across the city by installing Automatic Boom Barriers equipped with sensors. This initiative follows the successful pilot installation at the Akhbarnagar underbridge in Nava Wadaj.
These barriers automatically restrict access to underpasses during heavy rains, preventing vehicles from entering when water levels become too high.
Motera-Gandhinagar Metro rail route to launch by Aug end
The Motera-Gandhinagar metro rail route is poised to start operations by the end of this month following the completion of inspections by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS).
This section of the Ahmedabad Metro Phase-2 corridor spans 28.26 kms, including 22.84 kms from Motera to Mahatma Mandir and 5.42 kms from Mahatma Mandir to GNLU-GIFT City.
IRCTC launches Bharat Gaurav Train for Jyotirlinga pilgrimage

Major land allocation for sports development off SG Highway
The AMC has designated a substantial land area of 1 lakh square meters within TP Scheme 204 off SG Highway for sports infrastructure development. This allocation surpasses the 79,500 square meters designated for the Olympic Sports Complex in Naranpura and aligns with the city’s ambitions to host the 2036 Olympic Games.
