To further improve relations between India and US, one consulate will be established in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad each. Moreover, India will also set up its consulates in Seattle, as well as two other locations in the US, stated officials. Consulates are opened to undertake administrative duties such as processing visas for citizens of their host territory, and to provide information and guidance about immigration processes.
As per official data, last year, the US issued a record 1,25,000 visas to Indiab students. Dedicated Indian and US Consulates will boost people-to-people relationships between the two countries and will make it easier for Indians to live and work in the United States and vice-versa.
