Remember those foot and head massages that you could avail of in trains originating from Indore? Well, now you can’t. Only last week, the Western Railways had announced this new convenience, but now, they seem to have backed out from it. The move is being scrapped, following certain controversy over the subject.
The exact details as to why this move is being redacted are still rather murky. However, the authorities stated that as of now, there really is no need for such a facility on trains. The decision would have impacted about 39 trains that originate from Indore.

The authorities were not ready to spend extra money on infrastructure and manpower for this move. They stated that they would rather spend money for better, more convenient facilities for the passengers.
When the proposal was sent to the higher authorities last week, it drew a lot of flak from them and owing to that, it will be scrapped. There are no details if this service will be replaced by any other, but as of now, we will have to make do with the same old train journeys that we’re used to.
To recall, the service had been made available for ₹100 per passenger and was expected to hit the trains very soon. This new development has turned the tables around. The initial goal of this move was to provide passengers with a better, more refined form of travel and to make railways a more lucrative option. The fact that the Western Railways would earn money from this came as a bonus addition, but these remain pipe dreams.
If the move was actually put into place, we can safely say that we would be eager to jump on the bandwagon. What better way to calm down on a long train journey than a soothing head massage? Well, it seems that the officials had other plans and we’re not getting any massages any time soon.
