In Indore, one particular restaurant is championing social equality by providing Braille menus to visually impaired customers. The Young Indians group of the Confederation of Indian Industry launched this initiative following discussions with several restaurant proprietors. As part of this, Gurukripa Restaurant in Indore began this praiseworthy endeavour, welcoming visually challenged children from Mahesh Drishtiheen Kalyan Sangh, who then made use of Braille menus to select their meals.
Young Indian Group Chairperson Bhavna Ganediwal mentioned that they had specifically ordered the Braille script cards from Chandigarh and would send 10 of them to other restaurants, all of which had agreed to keep Braille script menu cards on deck.
This initiative aims to boost the confidence and self-respect of visually impaired individuals, as they can now independently order food. The Young Indians group intends to expand this initiative to other cities. Simran Bhatia Sharma, the restaurant owner, expressed her excitement about the project and encouraged other restaurant owners to adopt it.
