Over the past few years, connectivity between Delhi and Jaipur has only become better. Since both the destinations are business hubs, a number of travellers commute from Delhi to Jaipur and vice versa.
A growing trend now is that people prefer to travel by buses. In that spirit, it is great news that starting November, the two cities will be connected by all-electric buses. Read on to know all about the new buses.

What’s the update?
In order to provide passengers and frequent commuters with a new and a more eco-friendly way to travel, RSRTC is bringing in a total of 250 electric buses. Apart from the 250 e-buses, RSRTC is also inducting an entire fleet of 1,100 buses for these long-distance journeys.
Of the 250 electric buses, only 50 will be functional by November. The other 200 buses will be delivered after the trial period, which is when the RSRTC will gauge the response and see exactly how much of an eco-friendly effect the buses will have.

Where can you get these buses from?
To board these buses, there are points in both Delhi and Jaipur. In Delhi, you can get on the bus from Bikaner House, which is already a no pollution zone. As for Jaipur, the boarding point has been set to Central Bus stand for now. In the future, there could be specific bus stations for e-buses, which will be fitted with charging points as well.
As of now, there already are electronic buses in Jaipur. But mostly, they ply within the city itself. With the new buses that RSRTC will acquire, they are taking up a rather herculean task. In fact, charging points along the Delhi-Jaipur route will also have to be installed.
