The Pink City is perhaps one of the most culturally rich and vibrant cities in India. However, this image is often tarnished by the almost terrible state of traffic in the city which could surely use a major overhaul. In a bid to improve traffic conditions in the city, the JDA (Jaipur Development Authority) plans to implement a few new road safety measures. Read on to know more about them.

Following the recent increase in road accidents and mishaps, the JDA has taken forward this step to implement new rules and regulations that will ensure safer and more streamlined traffic. With the help of the changes, we can expect to see fast moving traffic and less snarls on the road.
As of now, the committee that has been set up by the JDA and it will focus on carrying out surveys across the city. They will scout out areas which are more traffic prone and accident prone and then the necessary methods to improve these areas will be taken. Mostly, these will be in areas that see a lot of traffic and where the roads have taken massive wear and tear over the years.

Notably, these areas are JDA Circle, Rambagh and OTS. Once the surveys are carried out, the authorities will begin the work to make them safer for commuters with vehicles.
The entire move will take place in two phases, the first of which is already underway. The first one is all about scouting out areas while the other is to put new rules and regulations in place. Apart from that, the second phase will also focus on minor improvements on other roads in the city and will ensure that traffic as a whole in Jaipur is kept moving at all times.
For students and officer goers, this move comes as a major boon. For a long time, the traffic in the city had got on people’s nerves, but now, residents of Jaipur can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
