On December 18, the wax museum situated at Nahargarh Fort Jaipur celebrated it’s 2nd year anniversary by unveiling a life like wax statue of former Indian cricket team captain, MS Dhoni.
The statue is a life like replica in that it has the same weight, height and facial features as MS Dhoni. The statue has intricate details that emphasize the realism that goes into making the statue and it has about 19 kg of wax and almost 37 kg of fibre. The statue stands tall at 5 feet and 9 inches – MS Dhoni’s height.
The wax statue depicts the former captain is most beloved avataar – as the stellar wicket keeper! Authorities mentioned that they also considered MS Dhoni’s famous helicopter swing, but eventually settled for the wicket keeping stance as they figured this was a more recognizable position for the player.

This is not the first time that the wax museum has a legendary cricketer to grace it’s halls. A few years back, the museum inducted a statue of cricketing super star Sachin Tendulkar in a cricket stadium like environment and the statue of MS Dhoni will be placed next to him.
The choice of making an MS Dhoni replica was made by fans on social media. Last year, the museum authorities conducted a poll on Facebook and Twitter with two options- Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. We are hopeful about the possibility of the next wax statue being Virat Kohli.
Currently, the wax museum has over 40 statues of stars from different areas of arts and sports. They aim to constantly expand this number and hope to keep gaining more visitors each day.
