The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is the nation’s highest civilian honour bestowed upon exceptional achievers under the age of 18. This year 32 students from all corners of the country were awarded the prize for their outstanding achievements and exceptional abilities. 4 out of these 32 students, viz. Anand Kumar, Anuj Jain, Anvesh Pradhan and Archit Patil hail from the state of Rajasthan.

The award highlights the abilities of students aspiring to excel in their field of study. These students are not only excelling in their various fields but are making contributions to society as a whole. Archit Rahul Patil, a student of class 9, was awarded the prize in the innovation category for his development of ‘Lifesaving Ultra Low-Cost Silicon Device Postpartum Hemorrhage Cup’. This cup works as a deterrent to excessive bleeding during pregnancy and will be extremely helpful in bringing down the number of deaths during childbirth.
Anand Kumar is a bright scholar and currently in class 11th. He was awarded for his excellence in scholastic achievement. Anand is preparing for JEE advance and has already submitted a research paper in Mathematics to the Mathematical Association of America. Anand wrote this research paper under the able supervision of Prof. R Thangadurai from Harishchandra Research Institute in Prayagraj. His paper has also been featured in various journals based in Switzerland.
Anuj Jain and Anvesh Pradhan also won the award under scholastic achievement. Anuj won a silver medal in the International Earth Science Olympiad 2019 and was feted at the Toronto University for programming and was elected to Stanford Pre-College studies in the USA. Anvesh on the other hand has won medals and certificates nationally and internationally. He won three gold medals in Singapore and Asian School Maths Olympiad. He also won a trip to Singapore after topping the International Society for Olympiad, along with a gold medal at the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad.
About the Award:
The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is awarded every year on Republic Day to exceptional achievers under the age of 18. Usually, the event takes place in the Rashtrapati Bhawan but given the Covid restrictions, the event was held virtually this year.
