Eyeing an upgrade of Kanpur’s industrial infrastructure, the state authorities have sanctioned the establishment of a flatted factory complex in the city. In addition to this, a similar enterprise will be set up in Agra while reports state that focused interventions have been planned for three other cities in Uttar Pradesh, including the state capital Lucknow. Reportedly, Navneet Sehgal, the Additional Chief Secretary in the UP government informed about these proposed developments.
New facility expected to come up in Dadangar area
As per reports, flatted factory is a term used to describe multi-floored industrial complexes that house units involved in such production processes that do not lead to pollution. Reportedly, manufacturing units for readymade garments, handicrafts, woollens, hosiery, IT, carpet and other similar centres can come up in such complexes. It helps in the optimal usage of land for industrial purposes, thereby accentuating the process of development.
Further, reports state that this facility will come up in the Dadanagar region and It is expected that the establishment will be a four-storeyed factory. It has been reported that a specialised committee headed by Additional Secretary, MSME ministry of the central government approved the plan. After commissioning, the factory will help small scale entrepreneurs to forge ahead towards their dream of high-speed progress.
Lucknow, Farrukhabad and Jaunpur to benefit
Lucknow, Farrukhabad and Jaunpur are also awaiting significant industrial developments under the same scheme. During the times of the pandemic, the economy has been hit hard and industry suffered from stalled work and delayed projects. Taking cognisance of the troubles propelled by the pandemic, the central and territorial governments have targeted their attention to making sure that the industries are revived on their route towards expansion.
