Plans to boost perfume industry
The government, as a part of their plan on developing Kannauj as a perfume tourism destination, will also be setting up a perfume park in the district.
“The Uttar Pradesh government has planned to promote the perfume of Kannauj in the international market. The aim is to take the Rs 250 crore perfume business to Rs 25,000 crore,” Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary, MEME and export promotion, stated.
It is anticipated to be completed by November 15. In addition to this, the perfume business is also predicted to become smoother for traders.
“The state government has made changes in the export policy to make it easier for the traders to boost their perfume export. If a trader associated with the perfume business participates in a fair abroad, the state government will bear the expenses on their travel and transportation of samples.”
Navneet Sehgal added.
Traders will be aided with the product development, marketing, branding, packaging, testing, and more. Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plant (CIMAP) will also contribute in promoting the perfume industry.
