When the Investors Summit was convened in Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh government had prepared plans for the establishment of such centres at some airports, including the one in the city. Now, it is expected such plans will be materialised soon and a new unit will add to the existing services available at the Luckow Airport. As per the given information, nearly 30 to 40 flights come to Lucknow daily and 5 to 6 of these are stationed here during the night.

Given the increasing air traffic, the officials are also working to increase the count of aprons for parking the aeroplanes. Currently, the southern section of the airport encompassing the old runway has ample vacant land and it may be used for the new projects. Further, the area also contains two barracks for CISF officials, one at the Transport Nagar Metro Station and the other at the beginning of the Airport road.

As of now, only Air India vehicles undergo maintenance at the CCS airport. In the absence of proper upkeep resources, vehicles have to stand in the aprons for 2 to 3 three days at a stretch, which alters schedule and connectivity between multiple locations. Notably, an Indigo aircraft had to wait for 5 days after its wheels got damaged in 2018. Keeping these things in view, the officials have planned for setting up the new maintenance centre.
