Boosting the available infrastructure for sports persons and athletes in Uttar Pradesh, the sports city centre in the capital district, Lucknow is gradually expanding its scale and operations. As per the latest developments, the football stadium in the city’s Ekana complex is all set to start operations in December this year. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, this advanced stadium would stand next to the cricket stadium on the campus.
Imported grass to be laid out in the stadium
As per reports, the grass for the stadium is being sourced from a foreign country. Further, reports have stated that the stadium would come up with the capacity of hosting 5,000 spectators. Along with, the stadium complex would house a media centre, dressing room, gym, changing room, dining hall and some other facilities too. In addition to this, a residential sports school is also being established on the campus.
Residential sports school to aid a total of 500 students
As per reports, the school would cater to a strength of 500 students and rooms have been constructed for 250 boys and 80 as of now. Once functional, it would impart quality education for kids interested in a range of sports while they will also be trained for international competitions. As per reports, CBSE and internationally recognised curriculums would be available at the school. It has been stated that foreign students will also be inducted here.
Reports have mentioned that the football stadium would also contain clay and synthetic lawn tennis courts. In from of it, an indoor hall for a range of sports activities are being set up. This would include facilities for badminton, table tennis, handball, kabaddi and other games too. Additionally, the stadium would also encapsulate facilities for spectators who may venture out here to enjoy the events. Given the scale of proposed developments, the sports scenario in Lucknow expects an upgrade soon!
