Lucknow University is all set to implement the provisions of National Education Policy 2020 from the upcoming academic session 2021-22. As a part of this, students will be allowed to leave a four-year program after the first year and they will be provided a diploma certificate in recognition of the academic year. Additionally, such students will also be permitted to take admission in any other course.
Four-year program to have a total of 192 credits
Reportedly, the varsity administration has been involved in the process of adding the new changes to the current course structure, over the past week. Easing the education ecosystem for the students, a uniform credit-based curriculum is being prepared, which will have a total of 192 credits. Further, the students will be allowed to leave the course at the end of any academic year.
As per reports, the implementation of the New Education Policy 2020 will provide intra-departmental and inter-departmental alternatives to the students. They would get a comprehensive course structure coupled with curriculum courses and vocational courses. The four-year program would consist of Major-1, Major-2, curriculum and vocational courses. While Major-1 would have a total of 20 papers, each paper in the program would bring four credits for the student.
Students to get bachelor’s with research degree after 4 years
According to reports, the third and fourth semesters would entail 2 papers of major-1 and major-2 each. In addition to this, they would have 1 paper of the minor, curriculum course and vocational course each. After completion of 3 years, the student will be eligible to get a graduation degree.
Subsequently, the pupils will be educated with the concepts of research and theory during the seventh semester and there will be a total of six papers, including research methodology. Reportedly, the last semester would contain a major project of 24 credits and the students will be given a bachelor’s with research degree thereafter.
