In what will be a historic affair for Lucknow, the city’s first-ever Army Day Parade is scheduled to be held in January, 2024 and the preparations are in full swing. Drawing attention to the momentous day (January 15), numerous outreach initiatives and pre-events are taking place across Surya Command. This includes blood donation campaigns, military band concerts, tree plantation drives, the ‘Know Your Army Festival’, amongst others.
One programme to attend is the 3-day ‘Know Your Army Festival’, an exhibition throwing light on “an impressive array of weaponry and equipment spanning from the vintage era to cutting-edge next-generation technology,” shared Defence Public Relations Officer Shantanu Pratap Singh.

The festival will engulf performances by the Indian Armyโs martial arts team, demonstrations of rock climbing and rappelling, hot air ballooning, an engaging army dog show and a melodious performance by the military pipe band.
