Officials of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) recently declared the result of Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination-2019, commonly known as PCS (Provincial Civil Services). Lucknow’s Poonam Gautam, a 36-year-old gynaecologist, made the city proud by securing the 3rd rank among 434 successful candidates. Her story is proof that when a person is determined to achieve their goal, everything else automatically falls in place.
Route of bureaucracy to facilitate women empowerment
Gautam completed her MBBS from Motilal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj and her PG from Lucknow’s King George’s Medical University. She chose the route of bureaucracy to facilitate her dreams of helping women, who face challenges on various fronts in life and she further wishes to empower them. Along with preparing for state civil services, Dr. Gautam was active in her medical profession as well.
Mother to a five-year-old daughter, Dr. Poonam Gautam’s joy knew no bounds when she saw that she had cleared PCS-2019 examination. Her dream-come-true situation is a product of the immense support she received from her family. She is especially thankful to her mother-in-law, sister-in-law and her husband, read reports.
