A new COVID-19 treatment facility has been set up at the Reserve Police Line in Lucknow, for the benefit of police personnel and their families. Located near the IT Chauraha, this special centre has been constituted as a level 1 treatment and isolation amenity for cops in the city, streamlined with the state’s directive in the same prospect. This service will provide urgent medical aid and clinical attention to symptomatic police officials, fostering rapid recovery in them.
Special treatment support for Lucknow Police
Equipped with 52 beds, including both normal and oxygen beds, this dedicated centre aims to provide corona treatment to frontline police officials. While a majority of facilities here accommodate oxygen support, the centre has also reserved around 20 beds for high-risk patients at the Cantonment Board Hospital. Patients exhibiting deteriorating or critical symptoms will be transferred to this advanced facility in the cantonment area.
Officials informed that this COVID-19 facility will primarily cater to mildly symptomatic patients, for isolation and treatment here. Admission will be granted to even those personnel who are awaiting their RT-PCR reports. This will enable prompt assistance to the frontline workers, circumventing the formalities. Within 3 weeks of its inception, over 100 police officials and their family members have been treated here. At present, around 6 personnel are receiving active treatment at this centre.
A team of doctors and nurses will conduct rounds here, each morning and evening, to monitor the patients’ health. All medicines and treatment are provided under the supervision of these doctors and health teams. A mess has also been provisioned at the centre to ensure a regular supply of hygienic food, to incubate fast recovery. Additionally, a COVID-19 help desk has also been centred here to resolve the queries of police personnel and their family members.
