A piece of 90s television nostalgia has officially landed in Mumbai. Fans of the hit sitcom can now step directly into the world of Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe. The official FRIENDS Experience is finally here and how! Running at the Jio World Garden until July 12, this marks the massive interactive exhibit’s grand debut in India. From screen-accurate set recreations to genuine behind-the-scenes artefacts, here is what awaits visitors looking to book their spots on District.
A personalised entrance into the sitcom
The nostalgia trip begins the moment you step through the doors. Visitors start by selecting their absolute favourite character from the famous six. You are then handed a themed character wristband. From there, you step into a series of carefully curated installations. These displays span the show’s legendary 10-season run.
Step inside the Friends Experience
The exhibition brings the show’s most famous locations to life. Fans can explore Monica’s apartment, complete with its signature purple walls. Right next door, you can lounge in Joey and Chandler’s bachelor pad. It features their leather recliners, a dartboard, and Joey’s beloved bedtime penguin pal, Hugsy.
For the true trivia geeks, the venue is packed with production history. On display are all 18 pages (front and back) of the rambling letter Rachel wrote to Ross. Visitors can also explore signed scripts, original production artwork, and cast costumes. A massive relationship chart traces a decade’s worth of complex on-screen romances.
The Grand Finale: Coffee at Central Perk
The experience concludes with a full-scale recreation of Central Perk. This coffee shop served as the backdrop for countless conversations throughout the series. Complete with an orange couch, it provides the final photo opportunity before fans return to reality.
