Keeping the burgeoning demands of medical-grade oxygen in view, the Uttar Pradesh government has been trying to amplify 02 supplies for Lucknow. In the latest string of developments, the Oxygen Express train from Jamshedpur, transported 10 containers of the life-saving necessity in the city on Tuesday. Starting its journey at 5 PM on Monday, the train reached the Charbagh Railway station at 2:30 PM today, with an approximated amount of 80 metric tonnes of oxygen.
Supplies to be distributed between Lucknow and Kanpur

As per resources, the largest consignment received in the city on Tuesday will provide respite to the COVID patients in Lucknow and Kanpur. While 6 containers will be kept in Lucknow, the other 4 shall be sent to the hospitals in Kanpur. While the state capital struggles with an uncontrolled rise in COVID infections, Kanpur takes the second spot with an equally alarming count of patients.
On Sunday, two oxygen express trains arrived at Lucknow with a total of 10 containers. Ferrying stocks of 90.78 MT oxygen, the facilities upgraded the inventories in Lucknow. Now, with the arrival of these latest supplies, it is expected that the oxygen crisis would be relaxed for the next few days. Previously, the stocks brought by Oxygen Express were also transported to Bareilly to ease accessibility there.

Due to the escalating count of severe patients, oxygen requirements have shot up in multiple districts across the country.
