Back in December, Jaipur’s first electric train had successfully completed its journey to Prayagraj, after being flagged off from the Jaipur Junction railway station and officially, this e-train had marked the initiation of operations on the city’s electric track. Now, electric trains are slated to run from the Pink City to Udaipur and Rishikesh from January 16 and the authorities of North Western Railway zone are gearing up for it.

As per the claims of the railway authorities, the department has taken a decision to launch the Yog Nagari Rishikesh-Ahmedabad Express and the Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Udaipur City Train on the electric section. Petaining to this, the Yog Nagari Express from Rishikesh will reach Ajmer via Jaipur and the Delhi Sarai Rohilla train will reach Udaipur, while running on its electric tracks.
In context of the travel time between the Pink City and Udaipur, the railway officials have said that commuters can save around 25-30 minutes in contrast to the usual duration, after availing this service.
The first electric train service in the city had completed its maiden run to and from Prayagraj last month and on its way back, the train had reached 15 minutes ahead of schedule. While the train carried 505 passengers on its journey to Jaipur, the return passenger load surged to a total of 908 travellers.
The pilot success of this train facility has been fostering high hopes for the e-train which is all set to run on its tracks from tomorrow and more such electric transits will definitely be a money and time-saver move for the citizens of the state and beyond.
