For a long time now, Jaipur’s metro has been a pipe dream. Now, however, we’ve got some good news that should be music to any Jaipurites’ ears. The Chandpole to Badi Chaupar corridor of Jaipur metro has undergone successful trial runs and the metro is likely to start off very soon.
This development took place before the 19th of January, which was when the final trial runs and tests took place. The only grant that is left, is that from the Commissioner of Safety. We’re excited to see how this journey pans out and what the Jaipur Metro’s Phase 1B has lined up for us.

After a long wait, Jaipur metro’s Chandpole to Badi Chaupar line has finally been approved. The line has undergone all the trial runs and everything seems to be in order, so it is only a matter of time before we get to travel in the metro. Once all the grants are received, we can expect to see the metro function in full force.
This metro route is a 2-kilometer stretch and comes as a part of Phase 1B of Jaipur metro. Along this 2 kilometer stretch, there will be just one station- Choti Chaupar. Surely, those in the area will make great use of the metro.
Currently, Jaipur metro’s web isn’t all that vast. There is a single corridor from Mansarovar to Chandpole, which covers a distance of approximately 12.67 kilometers. Along this route, the metro is a saviour for many who wish to travel a short distance and live in nearby areas. The route covers a total of 9 stations along its 12.67 kilometer stretch.
There is also a second corridor which is scheduled for completion by 2021 and it is set to have a total of 20 stations, which will surely help connect the city better.

As of now, Jaipur’s metro route stands at the shortest metro line in India. With the expansion all the way to Badi Chaupar, the route will extend by 2 kilometers and will bring convenience to all. We’re excited to see how Jaipur metro impacts our daily lives and we can’t wait for the expansion.
