In a bid to promote better management of vaccination drives in Jaipur, the Health Department has issued directives to allow on-spot registration for the inoculation program. It has been ordered that if individuals with prior online registrations fail to arrive at the vaccination site, then the doses will be given to the beneficiaries through on-spot registrations. Besides extending the scope of inoculation, this measure shall also prevent vaccine wastage.
Move to aid individuals unable to procure online registrations
The intervention is expected to benefit a large count of individuals who are facing problems getting themselves registered on the virtual platform. This includes technically unsound people and those who are dwelling in the rural areas of the district. With the new directives, vaccine doses will be administered to those who arrive at the centre itself, in case the registered individuals don’t show up. Currently, this step will be executed at the government centres only.
Depending upon the possibilities, the authorities are also deliberating upon a system in which online registered beneficiaries will be inoculated on one day and on-spot entrants on the other. Here, it has to be acknowledged that vaccination centres may witness overcrowding due to the offline facility and regulated management is the key to the effective execution of schedules.
Further, the officials have been instructed to ensure that rural citizens are vaccinated on priority at the rural centres. It has been noted that youths from the city are commuting to rural centres to get their jabs.
832 new cases & 2,806 recoveries reported on Tuesday
Bringing a brief sigh of relief, case tallies have dropped in Jaipur with less than a thousand infections reported for the second day in a row. 832 new cases and 2,806 recoveries were recorded on Tuesday and the active patient load has shrunk to a count of 19,967 individuals. While 20 deaths were logged on Tuesday, a total of 1,784 people have succumbed to the deadly virus in the capital city, till now.
