After a 6 month lockdown, schools in Jaipur partially open as per the guidelines issued by the Rajasthan government, under the purview of the relaxations offered by Unlock 4. Students from class 9 to 12 are allowed to go back to schools in the city, starting today, i.e. September 21 for guidance only. Regular classes remain suspended in tandem with the directives of the Centre.
What’s the news?
The Department of Education in Jaipur has released a set of guidelines to ensure the safe arrival of the students to school. Students from class 9 to 12 will have to seek voluntary permission from school teacher to procure their guidance. Guardians and parents also have to testify their approval in the form of a written application, based on which the teachers will start pooling in the students for the guidance programme.
Mandatory protocols
All Schools in Jaipur established an SOP which allowed entrance to campus premises only after thermal screening and hand sanitisation. To uplift the sanitation standards of the school grounds, soap and sanitiser kiosks for hand-wash has been made mandatory outside the school gate at a 6 feet distance. Prayer assemblies and all sports activities have also been suspended to ensure minimal contact and crowding in schools.
Parents & students not in favour!
As per the reports received by various educational institutions, a very small percentage of the student body was found willing to attend schools. Parents, guardians and students did not show much confidence in the physical guidance set-up in the backdrop of the raging pandemic. This diminished foot-fall may even be pinned on Section 144 which has been imposed in the city.
