While Lucknow stands shrouded beneath a storm of COVID troubles, an incident at the city’s KT Oxygen Filling Station in Chinhat, has raised eyeballs across the city. An oxygen cylinder burst out at 3:30 PM on Wednesday while being reloaded at the facility and chaotic circumstances ensued after that. Taking quick control of the situation, the authorities implemented a relief program to help the individuals affected by the blast and further investigation has been initiated.
Technical teams to examine the probable reasons behind the blast!
As a direct consequence of heightened infection rates, the city is dealing with an increased count of severe or critically ill COVID patients. Almost all such patients require oxygen therapy, which acts as a life-saving measure, if given at the right time. Given these circumstances, the production stations and refilling points are crowded by a humongous number of citizens.
Subsequently, a lot of individuals were present at the centre when the blast took place. After reaching the spot, the DM expressed grief over the unfortunate incident and assured that all issues related to the blast, will be analysed in detail by the technical teams. He informed that 5 people were injured while 3 casualties have been reported at the site till now. All wounded individuals were immediately taken to the hospitals and necessary medical aid is being provided to them.
After the cause behind this accident is clear, it is pertinent for the retailers across oxygen stations in the city, to take due notice of them and be alert towards preventing similar acts in future. During these trying times, all essential precautions must be undertaken to avoid such mishappenings.
