In a Smart City move, Green Park Stadium in Kanpur to get revamped by May 2022!

In an attempt to boost sports infrastructure and provide global level sports facilities in the city, Kanpur Smart City department is all set to revamp the Green Park Stadium. Under the ambit of this renovation work, the badminton courts and table tennis centres present in the stadium will undergo a facelift. While the work on this sports project has been initiated fifteen days ago, the remodelling work is expected to complete by May 2022, informed an official.

Kanpur polling date announced!

On Saturday, the election commission announced the polling dates for the upcoming Assembly Elections for Uttar Pradesh. The polling will take place in 7 phases. Both of Kanpur's constituencies, i.e, Kanpur Nagar and Kanpur Dehat will be casting their votes on February 20. All citizens above 18 years of age are eligible to exercise their right to vote and contribute to the formation of the next state government.

UPSRTC to revamp bus stations in Lucknow, Kanpur & 8 other UP cities

In a bid to improve the public transport infrastructure across the state, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is all set to develop 17 bus stations across Uttar Pradesh, soon. Notably, Charbagh, Amausi and Vibhuti Khand bus station in Lucknow and the Kanpur Central bus station have marked their presence in this list. Under the ambit of this project, bus stations in Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Mathura, Prayagraj, Meerut, Varanasi, Agra and Aligarh will also be developed by UPSRTC.

Electric buses to ply on the roads of Kanpur from next year; trial runs underway

Giving a major boost to environment-friendly means of public transportation, Kanpur welcomed a new fleet of 13 electronic buses on Sunday. Reportedly, this lot is the first consignment of the 100 city buses allotted to the district by the state. These zero-pollution buses will first undergo trial runs for a month and will begin operations starting the first week of December. Another 47 buses are likely to be delivered in the second week of December itself. The last lot of 40 e-buses is expected to arrive in Kanpur in January 2022.

Uttar Pradesh is all set to get its first tribal museum by March 2022!

Boosting the tourism potential of the state, Uttar Pradesh is all set to get its first tribal museum by March 2022. The 'Tharu Janjati Museum' will be set up at Imilia Koder village, a Tharu-populated area in the Balrampur district. According to officials, the museum will be centred around the vibrant and varied culture and lifestyle of the Tharu tribe. Spread over an expanse of 5.5 acres, the museum is under the last phase of its construction.
