The legendary IRONMAN 70.3 is back to Goa this year with its second edition, after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, and we’re hyped! The registrations at the event have sky-rocketed, with over 1,300 participants from the country and abroad. These participants from 21 countries between the ages 18-69 are buckling up for the arduous affair.
The 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 Goa, taking place at the pristine Miramar Beach in Goa’s Panaji, will be offering qualifying slots for the 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
What is IRONMAN 70.3?
Also referred to as Half Ironman, the high endurance challenge is a world-wide series of long-distance triathlon races.
The triathlon race incorporates a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and a 21.1 km run. The total comes up to 113 kms or 70.3 miles. So, for those who’re wondering, the 70.3 in the name infers to the sum total mileage (in miles) of the above three distances. The series of race, but of course, will cover some of the most iconic locations in the state.
The first season of Ironman 70.3 was held in Goa in 2019 and saw about 1,100 participants.

Rising above the challenges posed by the pandemic, the Goa tourism has outdone itself in creating an ideal atmosphere for the event. More than 100 relay teams, including those from corporate, will also join Ironman 70.3 this year.
“We have secured a larger cycling course allowing more participants and also enhancing the experience of Ironman 70.3 Goa participants. We are excited to welcome 1,300 athletes from 21 countries on the brand-new cycling course,” Founder and CEO of Yoska Deepak Raj shared.
