While the COVID scourge has been unforgiving, clasping several lives in its vile grip, there are a number of outfits that have stepped up to placate several pandemic woes, in their own capacities. The Swapna Foundation in Lucknow is one such youth-driven organisation that is beating the COVID blues to relay relief amenities to the needy. Be it the supply of cooked meals or ration and hygiene kits, the Swapna rangers are running from pillar to post to resolve the crisis of daily necessities for daily wage workers, widows, labourers, rickshaw pullers, and vendors, even during the lockdown.
Swapna’s Mission Hands Together 2.0
The Swapna Foundation established its authenticity during the first wave of coronavirus infection, last year. The NGO arranged for food, funds, manpower and essentials amid the chaos of an unfamiliar COVID pandemic and continues to do so even today, with its latest agenda, Mission Hands Together 2.0.
The step is dedicated to resolving the plenty of economic hurdles standing in the way of the marginalised. The agenda is a collaborative effort of the entire team to provide relief supplies to the people, to help them endure these tough times. This venture also aims to provide medical assistance to the homeless and the needy and tries to fulfil their treatment-related requirement.
Besides these supplies and amenities, the rangers of the Swapna Foundation are trying to help people find relevant jobs as per their skills, boosting employment and financial security. This step will ensure that people are able to earn a basic amount to support their families and refurbish the crippled economy at the grassroots. To facilitate this, the foundation has adopted 21 slums and 11 villages in and around Lucknow. The volunteers are working here to meet the basic requirements of those in need, irrespective of their troubles.
Knock Knock
As the name suggests, the Swapna Foundation is aiding the unfortunate to realise their dreams and aiming to spread a ray of hope in their lives. They have touched and transformed a lot of such lives for the better.
It is currently operating 6 welfare projects, ranging from education and healthcare to livelihood and women empowerment among others, benefiting more than 1,500 families living in 16 slums in Lucknow and 8 villages in the vicinity.
