As 2023 is nearing us, India’s cleanest city Indore is gleaming in soon-to-be-witnessed affairs and developments. Embracing more IT parks, working on conserving energy and nature, establishing artificial ecosystems in the form of Indore City Forest, implementing higher quality waste disposal systems and more, Indore has never failed to make its citizens feel proud and deems to carry the status forward into 2023!
From being a part of the era that will see the city’s first metro to watching India’s education system improving, here are things that you can look forward to in the Madhya Pradesh’s gem.
Indore as a hub for global events
With Indore making a strong entrance into the new year by hosting global events. From the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas Conference (17th Indian Diaspora Convention) on Jan 8-10 to the much awaited Global Investors’ Summit (GIS-2023) on Jan 11-12, the city has been bedecked in glory to look its best. Under the latter, giant investors have been invited to the city to encourage investment in the industrial sector.
Indore has been beautified, along with top-notch security arrangements. Amenities and security at the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport have also been boosted. The city walls also look resplendent with beautiful art-work. Moreover, all squares and gardens along the Super Corridor have been revamped with more cycle tracks developed, amidst others.
Indore Metro to be up & running soon
Eyeing trials in September 2023, full-fledged preparations on the 17.2 km long Priority Corridor of Indore Metro Rail Project are underway. In tandem with embellishing the city for the aforementioned global affairs, the progress on the on-going construction is being closely monitored and the preparations have been sped up.
Localities can also expect to be able to travel by Indore metro, in its first phase, by the end of the new year.
Much awaited Nehru Park 2.0
Another much awaited development is definitely the revivified Nehru Park. One of the oldest and most sought after recreational spaces in the city, the amusement park has been under renovation for a while. However, now, the Indore Smart City Development Limited is slated to open the gates of Nehru Park 2.0 for the public by January 2023 end.
Along with the availability for public at a nominal entry free, the park’s much adored old toy train will also run again, making for a perfect family-picnic spot.
New infrastructural developments
Numerous infrastructural improvements have been going on in the city and foundation has been laid for novel highway projects, new roads and railways as part of the Setu Bandhan Yojna. In a bid to elevate the infrastructural growth of the city, five new flyovers will be constructed at prominent places in the city in 2023.
Overall, 21 flyovers have been proposed to be built in Madhya Pradesh, including five in Indore. With this move, the roads in the city are expected to be enhanced, too.
69 new schools in the city
You can also anticipate the education sector of Indore getting a push with 69 new government schools to be made in the city. Under the CM Rise School Scheme, as many as 274 schools with modern amenities have been established in the state, as per records.
This will offer more scope to people coming from low economical backgrounds who will, in turn, be able to provide their children with proper education.
Indore in 2023
Indore, that clenched the title of the cleanest city for the sixth consecutive year in October 2022, also holds the title of one of the smartest cities in the country.
