Japanese high-street fashion has a fanbase of its own and we, being a total sucker for trendy apparel, can’t have enough of it. Well, coming to your rescue, this popular Japanese retail giant—UNIQLO is working to expand its presence beyond northern India, with two new stores scheduled to open in Mumbai later this year. This expansion will push the total store count to 12 in India.
Before the scheduled debut of the 1st store on October 6 at Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla, UNIQLO has appointed Bollywood icon Katrina Kaif as its 1st brand ambassador for India. The one-year partnership will see the actress endorse the brand’s Fall-Winter 2023 campaign and attempt to woo affluent shoppers.
With this accomplishment, Katrina Kaif joins UNIQLO‘s team of ambassadors with includes Swiss tennis star Roger Federer, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, Japanese tennis player Kei Nishikori and Australian golfer Adam Scott.
The actress shared with Livemint, “UNIQLO has been my go-to brand for daily essentials and over the years I have admired how functional and innovative their products are”.
“We are extremely pleased to have Katrina Kaif join us as Uniqlo’s first brand endorser in India,” said Tomohiko Sei, Chief Executive officer, UNIQLO India.
UNIQLO‘s new store will house an impressive collection of clothes. From baggy jackets to chic dresses, pretty tees, fashionable bootcut jeans, dapper t-shirts and lots more. Sounds like our own personal retail heaven, doesn’t it? Well, we hope they open their doors to welcome us really soon ’cause we can’t wait to go and shop till we drop.
