In an attempt to boost economic activities and to better the industrial ecosystem, Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has announced to upgrade the infrastructure of six industrial belts in the Indore region. These industrial belts are old and lack basic facilities, making this a much-needed move. The authorities will focus on upgrading long-pending upgrades like the development of water supply measures, proper road connectivity and electricity supply in these areas.

The project to upgrade the industrial belts in Indore will be completed at an estimated cost of ₹66 crores. Out of which, 75% will be contributed by the state government while the remaining sum will be funded by MPIDC. The six industrial belts chosen for this project are Special Economic Zone Phase-II, Electronic Complex and Readymade Complex in the Indore district, Maksi in Shajapur, Jaggakhedi in Mandsaur, and Nirmani in Khargone.
Additionally, IGC Maneri in Mandla district and Naugaon and Sidhgawan industrial belts in the Sagar district will also be developed along with the six industrial areas of Indore. The lack of proper infrastructure in these industrial areas has been creating several problems one of which is, damage to finished products while shipping. The upgrades will ensure hassle-free movement of goods and boost the economic infrastructure of the country.
